Hello dear friends,
Wow what a cosmic rollercoaster we’ve had for the last fortnight! Did anyone see any shooting stars during the peak of the Perseids Meteor Shower on 12-13 August? You can catch up with the details here, but know that the next meteor shower (the Draconids) is not until 8-9 October so I’ll be writing about that one then!
You may remember back in early August, I shared some musings about Lughnasadh - the first harvest in the Wheel of the Year - also known as the grain harvest. The second harvest will be upon us with the next turn of the wheel which falls in just over 3 weeks around 23 September - close to the Autumn Equinox, which Pagans know as Mabon. This second harvest is known as the fruit harvest which makes sense for those of us in the Northern hemisphere where damsons, blackberries, elderberries and crab apples are bursting from the hedgerows. What wild fruits have you been harvesting so far in this season of late summer and how have you enjoyed them? Let me know in the comments below.
