Two special moments occurred this week. The first was that the Elderflowers here in Yorkshire have begun to bloom (yay!). The second is that I spotted (or rather heard!) the first Swifts swooping overhead - two annual events in Nature’s Calendar that herald the beginning of Summer in my almanac. If you’re not familiar with how to tell apart Swifts, Swallows and House Martins, Cornwall Wildlife Trust have made this handy infographic.
