Starlings and Stargazing🌌
plus some tips on tulips and journalling for the New Scorpio Moon
Welcome to the penultimate edition of Moontime Musings for 2025!
I’m writing this newsletter after returning from a magical self-prescribed retreat spent walking 60 miles of the Cleveland Way from Saltburn-by-the-Sea to Helmsley. This had been a dream of mine since walking the coastal section of this 109 mile trail from Filey Brigg to Saltburn back in the Summer of 2022. As long time readers will know, I absolutely love walking long-distance trails, especially those along the coast, and have been walking sections of the South West Coast Path over the past 10 years.
Here’s an extract from my July newsletter on this particular topic:
Almost exactly 9 years and 11 months ago on 20 August 2023, I set off on a solo adventure along the South West Coast path.
The first stretch I chose departed from Sennen, Kernow, and took me up and over the most rugged and breathtaking part of the coast path to St Ives. Little did I know back then that the purpose of this journey was not simply for adventure and a sense of achievement, but also to support my mental health and heal from the heartbreak I suffered at that time.
Most years since then I’ve been back whenever an opportunity has presented itself - walking sections in no particular order - hitching a lift with a friend here or catching a train there to take me back to the path - back to the sea and the peace that treading a path around this peninsula of my motherland offers.
My Autumnal walk along the Cleveland Way was timed specifically to align with the clocks changing in the U.K and British Summer Time coming to an end. I always find this time of year particularly challenging - waking up in the dark and leaving work in the dark. So taking a week to slow down, be in my body and go to bed at 8pm every night meant that I returned rested and operating at a pace which I know will be more sustainable to endure the Winter months.
🌷A Ritual for November
This is one that I offer up every year because it brings so much joy. This is an extract from the Moontime Musings edition that I published in November 2023:
