🏺Happy New Moon in Aquarius and Lunar New Year!🐉
✨Inside: details on a NEW masterclass: Spring ephemerals ~ 10 British plants to spot in Spring🌱
Dear you,
Welcome to this bi-monthly newsletter for anyone who’s new here. Thank you so much for opening this edition as we ease into February and the Spring flowers begin to re-emerge. My intention is to offer rituals and stories to calm the nervous system, and suggest subtle ways to sychronise with the energies of the more-than-human world here in the Northern hemisphere.
As long-time readers will know, my online offerings, including this newsletter, are curated around the Wheel of the Year, which doesn’t have a set focal point for a New Year but rather 8 seasonal festivals in which we can harness the opportunity to re-visit our intentions and re-commit to them every 6 weeks. The last sabbat was the cross-quarter day of Imbolc, just over a week ago which I wrote about in my last newsletter. If you’re a free Moontime Musings subscriber, you can access this edition in full.
I also love to use the Lunar Cycle of 29.5 days, starting and ending with a New Moon, to define the aligned actions that I need to take during a Lunar Cycle to help me move towards my larger goal for the season and ultimately, the year. With Lunar New Year upon us you also have the opportunity to revisit and reflect on any intentions for 2024 that you may have set back in January and consider whether they still align with the version of yourself that you are today. More about Lunar New Year later….!
Here are some seasonal dates to ground you into February:
9 February 22:59 GMT: New Snow Moon in Aquarius
10 February: Lunar New Year ~ The Year of the Wood Dragon
13 February: Shrove Tuesday/Carnival
14 February: St Valentine’s Day (or gallentines/palentines!)
16 February: Spring ephemerals masterclass
18 February: Sun moves into Pisces
🌱Spring ephemerals masterclass
Although the world outside currently looks nothing like the photo above, there are some courageous Spring plants beginning to emerge from their Winter dormancy and if you’re interested in getting to know them, now is a great time to introduce yourself. In this free masterclass, I will introduce you to 10 Spring ephemerals (which simply means that they are short-lived), so that you can start to spot them as we edge towards the Spring equinox. The class is available on 16 February but you can secure your place and receive the link via email now by clicking the button below to register.
